Manchester United are reportedly preparing to test Inter Milan’s resolve for their star man Nicolò Barella.

Under the tutelage of Simone Inzaghi, Inter have established themselves as one of the most dominant sides in Italy as well as Europe, and Barella has proven to be an important figure in the Nerazzurri’s journey.

The 27-year-old has consistently delivered exceptional performances for Inzaghi, leading to interest from several European clubs, including United.

Barella, who is tied to Inter until 2029, has earned plenty of plaudits for his ability to win back the possession as well as drive his side higher up the field on a regular basis.

According to a report from Fichajes, the dynamic Italian midfielder has “sparked” the interest of United, who are “keen to close” his signing and are already “preparing an offer.”

The Spanish outlet claim United remain in the market for reinforcements and are accordingly preparing an “ambitious offer” to bring Barella, who is valued at €75 million, to Old Trafford.

Further, the Red Devils are willing to offer €10m million per season in wages to the Italy international.

Ten Hag appears to be a huge admirer of Barella, as it is suggested the United gaffer is “convinced” that the Inter star is the “ideal man” to lead his side’s midfield, which continues to be the club’s biggest area of concern despite numerous arrivals in recent seasons.

The Serie A giants have no desire to let their key player leave without a fight, as it is believed replacing him would prove to be an uphill task.

However, United’s offer and the idea of playing in the Premier League could give Barella something to think about. The outlet add that the next few months “will be crucial” for the midfielder’s future in Milan.

Earlier this week, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Inzaghi is appreciated by INEOS, who could bring him to Manchester should Erik ten Hag fail to make things work.

It will be interesting to see how Inzaghi’s future would impact Barella’s decision making amid interest from United.
