Manchester United defender Rabjohn sustains ACL injury
Manchester United defender Evie Rabjohn has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
The Red Devils confirmed the news this afternoon via a post on their official club X account.
Rabjohn sustained the injury whilst representing England at the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship. The youngster started Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Serbia but went down with her injury just after the half-hour and had to be replaced. The player will now fly home to England to begin the rehabilitation process. Rabjohn is likely to miss the majority of the 2024/2025 club season.
Manchester United signed Rabjohn from their Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Aston Villa last summer. The defender spent last season gaining experience in and around Marc Skinner’s first team squad. Rabjohn made one appearance for Manchester United in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup and was named amongst the substitutes on a handful of occasions.
This season would have seen Rabjohn make a further step up at Manchester United, however, the player’s injury now means that she will have to be patient to make her mark for the club.
Rabjohn will have the full support of the Manchester United medical staff throughout her rehabilitation.
