Manchester United are in negotiations with Inter Milan over a proposed swap deal that would see Denzel Dumfries join the club and Aaron Wan-Bissaka move to Italy.

Dumfries has been a long-term target for the Red Devils with Chelsea and Spurs also admirers of the Netherlands international, who has been one of Europe’s most effective attacking wing-backs at the San Siro.

The 28-year-old scored four goals and laid on four assists as Inter won the Serie A title in 2023-24, despite starting just 19 league fixtures for Simeone Inzaghi’s side.

Talks between Manchester United and Inter are described as ‘intermediary’ by The Athletic with ‘nothing advanced at this stage’, though dialogue over the deal is open.

United have considered an approach for Noussair Mazraoui, though West Ham are now leading the chase for the Bayern Munich defender and have agreed terms.

West Ham had coincidentally turned to Mazraoui after Wan-Bissaka rejected a move to the London Stadium, with the right-back’s preference a transfer to Inter as he nears an exit from Old Trafford.
