According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United remain ‘in constant dialogue’ as they aim to recruit Manuel Ugarté (23) from PSG. The Uruguyan is Erik Ten Gag’s priority target as the Premier League outfit look to bolster their midfield ahead of the new season commencing.

Paris Saint-Germain have set a €70m price tag for the former Sporting midfielder after he flattered to deceive during his first season in France, according to L’Équipe. This means that the Ligue 1 champions will not be prized easily of the 23-year-old’s services despite a disappointing 12 months in the French capital. A loan move is also an option for Manchester United.

To pull off the move for Ugarté, United may be forced to sell players within their current midfield roster to raise funds. Casemiro and Scott McTominay have emerged at the front of the list of potential midfielders who could be sold to allow for the arrival of Ugarté, L’Équipe understands.
