Manchester United cruised to a 5-2 win over Leicester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Altay Bayindir 5 – Didn’t cover himself in glory for Leicester’s opening goal as he failed to command his box. Came up with a brilliant finger-tip save in the second half to deny Boubakary Soumare.

Diogo Dalot 7 – Sharted a bit shaky but got into it as the game went on. Sublime pinpoint cross for Garnacho’s goal.

Matthijs de Ligt 6 – Barely put a foot wrong. Went about his job quietly and wasn’t really at fault for either goal conceded.

Victor Lindelof 6 – Same as his centre-back partner De Ligt. A decent outing for Lindelof.

Lisandro Martinez 5 – Didn’t do too much wrong but allowed Leicester huge spaces on the left during the early stages of the second half. Unsurprising really because he isn’t a natural left-back.

Manuel Ugarte 8 – Very solid in the middle of the park! Undoubtedly his best performance since his arrival in the summer from Paris Saint-Germain. Was first to everything and constantly won his tackles and challenges. Also connected the defence and attack well.

Casemiro 9.5 – What a way to break the deadlock! His powerful strike set United on their way and he added a second less than half an hour later. Could have had a first-minute hat-trick but dragged his header wide. Great to see him back in the goals again. He was also superb defensively. Barely gave the Leicester players a moment to breathe and his passing was equally exceptional. The Brazilian stole the show tonight.

Marcus Rashford 6 – Some decent moments but nothing to rave about. Looked slightly better whenever he shifted to the left.

Alejandro Garnacho 7 – Another goal. That makes it ten goal contributions in 15 appearances across all competitions this term. Looked confident and was dangerous.

Bruno Fernandes 9 – Like Casemiro, great to see him back in the goals again. Breathtaking free-kick albeit it came with a little bit of help from James Justin, who deflected it in. Nonchalantly finished his goal in the second half to thwart whatever hopes the Foxes harboured of mounting a comeback.

Joshua Zirkzee 4 – Again, failed to score in a game teeming with goals. Desperately needs to find the back of the net to get his confidence back up.

Substitutes

Amad Diallo 7 – A bright spark when he came on. Got his shots off and almost added to United’s tally with an excellent bicycle kick effort.

Noussair Mazraoui 6 – Replaced Martinez well and made the left side a more threatening avenue for United.

Rasmus Hojlund 5 – Some nice touches, passes and combinations.

Jonny Evans 5 – Comfortable during the time he was on the pitch.

Ethan Wheatley 5 – Was in action for a very limited period.
