Manchester City turn to Italy international Rovella to replace Rodri – report
Reports in Italy suggest that Manchester City could be prepared to offer a deal to Lazio for Italy international Nicolo Rovella in an attempt to cover the gaping hole left by Rodri following his serious knee injury earlier in the season.
Reports Man City considering offer for Rovella
According to reports from Il Messaggero, City could potentially be inclined to offer a lucrative deal as early as January.
Tuesday’s reports claim that City are considering making an offer of around €40m up front for the 23-year-old, who made his first appearance for the Italy national team back in November.
Rovella is technically still on loan from Juventus. The Bianconeri sent him to Lazio on a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy under certain conditions. Lazio will pay a fee of €17m to make his move from Turin permanent.
Calciomercato note that if Manchester City do come forward with a €40m offer, then Lazio would receive a capital gain of €23m.
City have also been linked with a move for another Italy international midfielder in Samuele Ricci, who is coincidentally also priced in the region of €40m according to Tuesday’s reports.
