Manchester City preparing shocking bid for Cambiaso
Manchester City have reportedly targeted Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, as they are preparing a shocking bid to bring the 24-year-old to the Etihad Stadium already in January.
The left-back has been playing a pivotal role in Thiago Motta’s side this season, as he missed a single Serie A game through injury, collecting two goals and one assist from 19 league appearances.
Motta had already coached the Italy international at Bologna and admired the player’s versatility, a quality which is also likely to have sparked Pep Guardiola’s interest, prompting the Citizens to plot an immediate move in the winter transfer window.
Man City readying Cambiaso bid but Juventus raise demands
According to Sky Sport Italia, Manchester City are intent on making an offer in the region of €60-65m to persuade Juventus to sell Cambiaso.
While previous reports suggested the Old Lady would have been pleased with bids exceeding €50m, Sky and Gianluca Di Marzio reported that they could raise their demands to around €80m, considering they’d also be forced to look for an immediate replacement.
With Bayern Munich also reportedly interested in the player, the Bianconeri hope that the Premier League giants may be prompted to increase their offer to secure a deal as quickly as possible.
