With the busy schedule of internationals now in full swing, Manchester City has had a host of players in action in recent days. Here is a summary of how a host of City players have performed for their countries as the international break kicks into gear.

Portugal 2 Croatia 1.

Manchester City had four players in action during Portugal’s 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Croatia.

For Portugal Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva both started in Portugal’s tightly contested win. First-half goals from Diego Dalot and Cristiano Ronaldo were enough to see Portugal pick a win. Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva both played the full 90 minutes and were in good form for their country.

For Croatia, their goal was an own goal that was scored by Diego Dalot. Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic both played the full 90 minutes for Croatia who would’ve been disappointed with the result.

Switzerland 0 Denmark 2.

Manuel Akanji played the full 90 minutes for Switzerland as they went down to a 2-nil defeat to Denmark.

Akanji put in a spirited performance for Switzerland who played the majority of the second half with 10 men. Their stubborn rearguard almost held out before Patrick Dorgu opened the scoring for Denmark with 10 minutes remaining. To compound Switzerland’s woes Granit Xhaka was sent off minutes after Dorgu’s opener. With 9 men for the final stages there was little hope for Switzerland to pick up anything from the game. Pierre-Emile Hojberg then sealed the points late on for Denmark with a late goal.

Kazakhstan 0 Norway 0.

Erling Haaland played the full 90 minutes for Norway during their nil-all draw with Kazakhstan. Norway and Haaland will be disappointed to come away with a scoreless draw given their overall dominance of the game. Haaland spurned several good opportunities throughout the game. It wasn’t Haaland’s best performance, as Norway appear to have not fully clicked as a team.

Belgium 3 Israel 1.

For Belgium, both Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku started in their convincing 3-1 win over Israel. Kevin De Bruyne continued his brilliant start to the season with a brace in Belgium’s win.

Jeremy Doku provided the assist for De Bruyne to give Belgium the lead in the 21st minute. De Bruyne would add another in the second half as he calmly slotted home from the spot to seal a convincing Belgian win. Doku put in a lively performance and his early assist was a fine reward for his display.

There will be more Manchester City players in action over the coming days of the international break. The football doesn’t stop for the City players given their importance to their nations.
