Abdukodir Khusanov (20) has established himself as a key player at RC Lens, despite Kevin Danso defying expectations and remaining at the club this summer.

The Uzbekistan international, described as a “monster” by teammate Brice Samba, has highly impressed for Lens, however, the club, having failed to sell the likes of Danso and Neil El-Aynaoui in the summer, are looking to offload players in January. Khusanov is one of the players that Les Sang et Or are open to selling, according to L’Équipe

The Telegraph have already evoked an interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, however, Premier League interest in the centre-back is growing. Manchester City and Leicester City have now also joined the race, whilst RB Leipzig are also tracking Khusanov. Foot Mercato understands that Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Luís Campos has already met the player’s entourage, whilst Atletico Madrid are also in the race, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

It is within this context that Lens have given a mandate to Jorge Mendes, whose task is to find a destination for the young defender. Lens are hoping for between €25-30m for Khusanov, according to L’Équipe.
