Will Manchester City move before the clock strikes 12 for a Spanish international?

As the European Championships have progressed one player who has impressed for Spain is Dani Olmo. The RB Leipzig midfielder has been one of Spain’s key players in their run to the final of the competition. Olmo has also been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer. Dean Jones and Danny Rust have previously reported for GIVEMESPORT that the champions are considering a move for the Spanish international. But time may be running out for Manchester City to sign Olmo for a cut-price fee based on a new report.

Fabrizio Romano has reported via his official X account that the €60 million release clause in Olmo’s contract expires on July 15. Based on Romano’s new report any club interested in activating the release clause in Olmo’s contract will have to act quickly.

The world champions will have to move quickly if they are to sign Olmo for a relatively cheap fee. Based on the Spanish international’s performances at Euro 24, €60 million is a cheap fee for Olmo. He has been one of Spain’s star performers this summer. With his eye for goal and all-around ability, he could be a welcome addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad. Olmo also appears to be a player who could adapt quickly to the City manager’s demands. Given his pedigree that appears to be a given. But as Romano reports time is running out for Manchester City to move for the Spanish international at a cut-price fee. If City were to move for Olmo after his release clause expires it would be expected that RB Leipzig would demand a sizable fee for Olmo.

Where Dani Olmo would fit into City’s squad could be a stumbling block for the champions. As it stands currently no player has left the champions this summer. It is well known that Pep Guardiola prefers to work with a smaller squad. But Dani Olmo at €60 million may be too good a deal for Manchester City to turn down. Dean Jones and Danny Rust also reported for GIVEMESPORT that City were interested in signing even if no key players depart the club this summer. If that is the case then they will have to move quickly to sign Olmo before the release clause in his current contract expires as per Romano’s report.
