Etihad Stadium officials adopt a clever approach to Manchester City transfer business during market seasons, a club insider has revealed.

The latest insider information into the inner workings of the Premier League champions emerges as Manchester City continue to go in search of their first piece of official transfer business of the ongoing summer market.

Positions under review and subject to desired recruitment ahead of the new season have been widely reported, whilst the club already have a number of profiles in mind ahead of potential officials offers in the coming weeks and months.

However, with an increased focussed on club sustainability and financial operations from the Premier League, a number of clubs including Manchester City are having to be extra cautious over their transfer business.

As such, a new report has pointed out the meticulous approach being taken up by the Premier League champions when it comes to identifying potential areas for transfer recruitment opportunity at rival clubs.

That is according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, who reveals that officials within the club analyse finances of opposition sides with players of interest, thus potentially providing themselves with clear opportunities for negotiation.

“(Manchester) City have people who drill down into the finances of rival clubs,” the Manchester City insider revealed on social media platform X. “(The) Club is aware where bargains and opportunities may be had.”

The Premier League champions’ hesitancy when it comes to potential transfer targets’ valuations this summer has already been highlighted through their reluctance to trigger a primary option’s release clause.

Bruno Guimaraes was able to leave Newcastle United up until last week when his £100 million release clause became inactive after no clubs showed an interest in meeting the St James’ Park club’s valuation.

It is widely believed that Manchester City retain an interest in the Brazilian international, however they will now look to negotiate a fee with their north-east colleagues as opposed to paying a sum that leaves club bosses with no option but to accept.

Guimaraes is currently starring for Brazil at this summer’s Copa America tournament, alongside Manchester City’s Yan Couto and Savio, with the latter expected to be granted the opportunity to impress Pep Guardiola during pre-season later this month.
