A relatively busy summer in the way of arrivals is still expected at Manchester City, despite the somewhat slow start to the market from the Premier League champions.

Etihad Stadium officials came into the ongoing transfer window with several key positions eyed for recruitment, however the recently-concluded European Championships and Copa America have certainly slowed progress.

Whilst there is an understanding in some quarters that a lot of the initial groundwork and conversation has already been completed on prospective transfers, Manchester City are yet to extend their business beyond the imminent deal for Brazil international Savio.

Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff are still awaiting a suitable back-up to Rodrigo in defensive midfield, whilst Manchester City continue to have Bruno Guimaraes and Joshua Kimmich earmarked for the role.

But while some Manchester City fans are beginning to get restless over the lack of business this summer, a new report has pointed towards the retained expectation within the club over what is still to come in the market in the way of arrivals.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, the expectation within the Etihad Stadium is that there will be at least two more additions after Savio this summer.

Manchester City could yet turn towards the left-back market after their search for new midfield recruits is completed, after Sergio Gomez finalised an exit from the club to Real Sociedad in a deal understood to be worth around €10 million.

There is also a feeling that City bosses could yet recruit twice in the centre of the park, as they look to add further attacking flair to their options in the middle, whilst also accommodating for a potential exit for either Kevin De Bruyne and/or Bernardo Silva in the near future.

However, departures from the Manchester City squad could yet spark further activity, with Julian Alvarez at the centre of intensifying interest from Atletico Madrid, with the Argentine eyeing increased opportunities as a leading striker in a top European line-up.
