🚨 Chelsea women impress; move into the Women's FA Cup fourth round

Women’s Premier League giants Chelsea remained on song in their FA Cup meeting with Chartlon in a confident 4-0 win.

Across a dominant display in front of home support, Sonia Bompastor’s Blues advanced in the competition with ease, taking a two-goal lead into the halftime interval thanks to a late goal flurry from Mayra Ramírez and a cool effort from the penalty spot thanks to Guro Reiten.

Chelsea’s brilliant day out continued into the second half when substitute Aggie Beever-Jones was introduced at the restart and managed to add her name to the scoresheet after just three minutes of action.

Niamh Charles netted the fourth goal of the night with her first strike of the season after she found herself with acres of room in the box to slot past a sprawling Jessica Gray to well and truly put the match out of sight with seventeen minutes left to play.

This type of form will surely see Chelsea as the favourites after the Blues have similarly blitzed the Women's Super League.

WSL high-flyers Manchester City eased past Ipswich Town and into the fifth round of the competition as they got 2025 off to a perfect start.

Dominating the game from the off, City took the lead midway through the first half through skipper for the day Jill Roord, who found the bottom corner from distance.

They continued to create chances, but didn't double their lead until just before the hour mark, when Laura Coombs' initial effort smashed back off the crossbar before she poked home.

Then it was the turn of Vivienne Miedama, making her first appearance since October, who found a yard of space in the Ipswich backline before finishing with her usual aplomb, and see City safely into the next round.
