Manchester City confirm 22-man travelling squad to face Juventus in UEFA Champions League
Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have confirmed a 22-man travelling squad to make the trip to Italy this week on matchday six of the UEFA Champions League.
The Premier League champions will be desperate to return to winning ways against the Serie A giants having endured back-to-back disappointing results in European competition that puts their hopes of automatic qualification for the last-16 at serious risk.
Manchester City thought they had bounced back from a heavy defeat to Sporting CP with victory against Feyenoord on matchday five, leading the game 3-0 with 15 minutes to go, only to concede three in quick succession and share the spoils at home.
It would be another draw in their last outing across competitions too, as City fought back twice against Crystal Palace to take a point from Selhurst Park in the Premier League, with goals from Erling Haaland and Rico Lewis cancelling out Daniel Munoz and Maxence Lacroix.
The meeting with Juventus in Italy is only half the story for Manchester City this week when it comes to mammoth and important ties for the club, as Manchester United visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon for a Premier League encounter.
Two matches will also remain for City in the Champions League following the clash in Turin, as another away trip awaits on the penultimate matchday against PSG, with a home clash against Club Brugge rounding off the opening stage of the competition in late January.
Before then, Manchester City have confirmed a 22-man travelling squad that left Manchester Airport on Tuesday afternoon for the Italian city of Turin!

In a significant boost to City’s future selection options, both Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden returned to training ground activities with the wider first-team group on Tuesday afternoon following a spell with injury and bronchitis respectively.
However, remaining sidelined for the time being with the Manchester derby against Ruben Amorim’s side also looming are Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji, and John Stones, alongside the longer-term absentees in Rodri and Oscar Bobb.
This is a developing story. More to follow.
