Erik ten Hag gave updates on three new injury worries after Manchester United were soundly beaten by Liverpool in a pre-season friendly.

The Red Devils created plenty of chances in South Carolina but lacked a clinical edge as Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas all got on the scoresheet.

United, who are already without defender Leny Yoro and striker Rasmus Hojlund, were struck by a trio of fitness concerns as Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans all had to be withdrawn at various stages.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag told MUTV: "Always, we have to see what has gone on.

"The assessment, of course, with Will Fish is it's an impact injury. We also had to sub Jonny Evans at half-time because he was ill. Victor Lindelof [was] a precaution. So, yeah, there are some injuries, but we have to see how bad it will be."

Ahead of kick-off, the Dutchman had revealed: "Pre-season is always tough. But, yeah, Harry Maguire, as a precaution, we leave him out.

"And we had, of course, some injuries, but that is part of club football. We have to develop our team and make some good progression."

There had been concern over Marcus Rashford after he was taken off in the victory over Real Betis but the England international was fit enough to feature for the first 45 minutes minutes in an attack which also comprised Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount and Amad Diallo.

Antony also managed enough to feature from the bench, with senior stars Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen getting minutes as substitutes.

The defeat concludes United's tour of the United States, having picked up a win against Betis after losing to Premier League rivals Arsenal. They are next in action in the Community Shield against local foes Manchester City.
