It has been a tough week for everyone connected with Manchester United, but Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have put that aside to combine for Portugalโ€™s opener against Croatia.

It took just seven minutes as well. After some tidy play from Portugal, the ball came to Fernandes on the edge of the box, a position he has not found himself enough in Unitedโ€™s opening three league games.

He also showed his eye for a through ball that has not been evident of late, threading the ball into Diogo Dalot, who came across from the right-hand side to finish smartly from a tight angle with his left foot.

Could Erik ten Hag learn a thing or two from Roberto Martinezโ€™s use of his two players, and maybe even the set-up of his side?

Not a question we thought weโ€™d be asking so early into the new season, or in general!
