Man Utd now interested in Italian striker with 10 goals/assists, he’s won 6.3 duels/game – report

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito ahead of a potential future move, according to Sportitalia.

The Red Devils bolstered the first-team squad with a huge spending spree last summer, but they also recruited young prospects for the academy.

Chido Obi-Martin, Samuel Lusale and Sekou Kone were among those signed by the hierarchy.

It is now reported that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Inter wonderkid Esposito, who is on a season-long loan at Spezia.

The 19-year-old has fared impressively for the Serie B outfit this term with nine goals and one assist from 17 appearances.

United and Leicester City continue to monitor the highly-talented forward, and it is claimed that there could be developments in future.

The Red Devils presently have Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as the main strikers, but neither have been consistent enough leading the line.

Manager Ruben Amorim is eyeing an upgrade on the duo for the back end of the campaign. He has his sights on landing Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani on loan.

The Portuguese tactician also wants to reunite with Sporting CP sensation Viktor Gyokeres. United could make a serious approach in the summer.

Meanwhile, Esposito has yet to prove himself at the highest level but could be one to watch out for.

The youngster has 10 goal involvements this campaign. He has also impressed with his movement and defensive contributions for Spezia.

Esposito has won 6.3 ground and aerial duels per league game. He has scored with every fifth shot on goal during his loan stint in Serie B.

The Italy Under-21 international still has to prove himself on the big stage, but United could pursue a summer deal due to his potential.
