Manchester United are planning to make a decision on Sofyan Amrabat next week, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Amrabat spent the previous campaign on loan with the Old Trafford outfit and ‘dreams’ of returning to United.

The Red Devils still have the option to buy the midfielder for £17 million available. The internal decision about the transfer will be made by next week.

The Morocco international is eagerly awaiting United’s move and is prepared to bid farewell to Fiorentina.

Amrabat moved to the Theatre of Dreams on transfer deadline day last summer after producing impressive displays at the 2022 World Cup.

Despite multiple clubs vying for his signature, he chose United.

Unfortunately, his stint in England didn’t live up to expectations as he struggled to adapt to the Premier League’s intense pace and physicality.

The midfielder made just 21 appearances in the English top flight, failing to register any goals or assists.

The emergence of Kobbie Mainoo also impacted his game time.

However, Erik ten Hag showed immense faith in Amrabat by starting him in the FA Cup final.

He rewarded this trust by delivering a masterclass performance against Manchester City and helped his side lift the trophy.

United also have Paris Saint-Germain star Manuel Ugarte and Benfica ace Joao Neves on their shortlist.

While a transfer for Neves seems unlikely, Ugarte is a more likely target.

United would ideally want to add both Ugarte and Amrabat to their ranks.

Casemiro endured a terrible 2023/24 season and Christian Eriksen could also leave Theatre of Dreams.

Donny van de Beek has already completed his permanent transfer to La Liga club Girona.

The arrival of Ugarte and Amrabat would boost United’s midfield department but their transfers hinge on the funds the club can raise this summer.
