Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana says that Erik ten Hag has the full backing of the squad ahead of next season.

The Red Devils endured a difficult campaign in 2023/24, finishing eighth in the table – their lowest ever finish in the Premier League.

But the side did manage to cap off the season with a surprise victory over fierce rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final, clinching the second trophy of Ten Hag‘s tenure.

That was enough to secure the Dutchman a one-year extension on his contract, tying him to Old Trafford until 2026.

Onana believes that Man United made the correct choice by sticking with Ten Hag, who he says has the support of the players.

“I’m not the one who decides if the manager stays or not,” the Cameroon international told Sky Sports News. “Obviously we had a difficult season with Erik last season but we ended very good, so the club made the right decision.

“For me as a player, and on behalf of all of us, we follow him and the instructions of the manager. We are with him, 100 percent, and it changes with the new goalkeeper coach. It is very positive.”
