Manchester City may be without several of their stars, but they continue to set records across the Premier League, and were at it once more this afternoon.

The Premier League champions were second best for much of the opening half an hour against Newcastle United, without Eddie Howe's side really threatening Ederson in the City goal.

But that didn't seem to faze them, and with just their second shot on target the visitors took the lead as Joško Gvardiol cut inside before finding the far corner with a cultured finish to put his side ahead.

In doing so, City scored against Newcastle for the 32nd consecutive Premier League game, more than any side has scored against another in the 32 year history of the competition.

It could have been two before half time but İlkay Gündoğan fluffed his lines when trying to chip Nick Pope, who was caught well out of his goal.

No Rodri, no problem so far!
