It would appear that FC Barcelona are not yet as consolidated in the summer market as they would have hoped. While their targets for the transfer market are clear, the resolution and conclusion of those arrivals is far from being the same. As such, Barcelona are continuously working with gradual caution.

Such a caution has also been applied to the case of 22-year-old Athletic Club star Nico Williams, who is seen by Barça as a key target and is one currently also being chased by French club PSG. In fact, it is being reported that the Parisians are now quite enthusiastic about his potential signing.

However, it appears that the last of Barça’s worries this summer do not begin and end with Nico Williams. Even Dani Olmo, the RB Leipzig star that Barcelona wish to sign this summer, has also been attracting the attention of English Premier League outfit Manchester City.

Fortunately for Barcelona, however, there is a positive update on that front. According to SPORT, Manchester City have not sent an official transfer offer for the player just yet. While their interest seems to be genuine, it has not materialized into a formal offer for now.

However, it is hardly a surprise to see Manchester City be a part of this conversation. They have been long-time suitors of the €60 million-rated RB Leipzig and Spain star, even actively pursuing his arrival last season but ended up seeing their attempts be futile due to the player’s decision to stay in Germany.

Now, it is his desire to return home to Catalonia and make his name with FC Barcelona again. Following his triumph with the Spanish National team during the European Championship, it became clear to the Catalan club that Olmo’s arrival would be a very welcome one.

For now, however, he has to wait in the backseat for a while. Other teams like Manchester United are also interested, but Olmo seems to be willing to wait for Barcelona at the moment. In fact, as per the same report, the player is already hoping to rejoin his group this summer as a player for La Blaugrana rather than as a returning Leipzig player.
