For the at least the second time in 2018 we have a controversial field goal ruling.

Missouri kicker Tucker McCann missed a 41-yard field goal in the first quarter against Georgia on Saturday. At least per the official underneath the uprights. Here’s what it looked like from the TV broadcast.

And here is where we, once again, call for taller goal posts, lasers on top of them, a GPS tracker in the football, better camera angles, field goals eligible for video review or something to help make these calls easier. Something very similar happened in Kentucky’s win over Florida.

It was the second play where Missouri fans weren’t too happy with the officiating. Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam fumbled after a reception and as he was getting pushed backward. Whistles didn’t blow on the play and it was returned for a touchdown with the help of some exceptional blocking by the center judge on Missouri QB Drew Lock.
