Manchester City could be subject to new concrete discussions with one of Europe’s premier clubs in the coming days, as uncertainty grows surrounding a player’s future.

The future of Julian Alvarez has been uncertain since the end of the last season, with a number of clubs emerging as potential candidates for the player’s signature, should he look to strengthen his own desire to leave the Etihad Stadium.

Alvarez himself has not stayed away from addressing rumours over his future, explaining whilst competing at the Olympic Games in Paris, “There is a lot of talk. I am focused here [at the Olympics] because it is a short tournament.”

As relayed by BBC Sport, the centre-forward continued, “At Manchester City I feel very good, I played a lot of minutes. But we will see after the Games. First, if I can, I will take a few days off. Then we will decide.”

Whilst much of the transfer attention has revolved around rumours of Atletico Madrid showing an interest in the former River Plate man, the latest information has linked one of Manchester City’s direct competitors for the UEFA Champions League with movement.

According to the information of ESPN Argentina’s Jorge Baravalle, Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Manchester City striker Julián Álvarez is now ‘growing stronger’, as uncertainty continues to linger over the Argentine’s Etihad Stadium future.

It is reported that there will be ‘more concrete contacts’ with Manchester City officials ‘next week’, in order for the Ligue 1 giants to start discussing a possible transfer for the 24-year-old, who has kept the door open to a move this summer.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
