Maine Mariners' Millman Achieves Milestone Against Railers

After being assigned to the Maine Mariners from AHL Providence in mid-October, defenseman Mason Millman had accumulated over 180 games during his professional career. Many of them were played as a member of the Reading Royals, the Mariners’ North Division foes.

On Saturday night against the Worcester Railers, Millman picked up an assist on a Sebastian Vidmar goal, giving the London, ON native his 100th career ECHL point.

After a scoreless opening period, Worcester's Riley Piercey gave his team a 1-0 lead, putting in a one-timer from the left faceoff circle past Mariners goalie Nolan Maier at the 1:34 mark.

Over two minutes later, Vidmar cleaned up a loose puck to the right of the Railers' net, with Millman picking up the primary helper to tie the score 1-1.

The 23-year-old Millman was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round (103rd overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft. The first three seasons of his pro career were spent between Reading and their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Millman has been a solid two-way player from the blueline, totaling 96 points (23-73-96) in 143 ECHL games. In 44 games with the Royals last season, he tallied 26 points (7-19-26).

Millman has appeared in 41 career AHL games, all with Lehigh Valley.

The 100-point milestone was a bittersweet moment for Millman, as Worcester scored four unanswered goals for a 5-1 victory. Anthony Repaci had a celebration of his own by picking up a hat trick to clinch the Railers' victory.

The Mariners drop to 3-5-0 and suffer their first road loss of the season.
