Madueke hails “leadership” of “unbelievable” Chalobah and explains how he helped Chelsea against Wolves
Noni Madueke hailed the performance of Trevoh Chalobah as “unbelievable” in Chelsea’s win against Wolves on Monday night.
The Blues ended a run of five games without a win as they ran out 3-1 winners at Stamford Bridge with Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella and Madueke on the scoresheet.
It was a massive three points for Chelsea who climbed back into the top four and two points ahead of Newcastle and Manchester City in the race for Champions League football.
Madueke hails Chalobah performance
Enzo Maresca made changes to the line-up from the draw against Bournemouth with Reece James and Chalobah both returning to the team.
It was Chalobah’s first appearance in a Chelsea shirt since the end of last season with the 25-year-old recalled from his loan spell at Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Chalobah went straight into the starting line-up and partnered Tosin in the absence of Levi Colwill and it was like he’d never been away.
The Cobham graduate put in a superb performance and was unlucky not to mark his return with a goal after Madueke poked home his goal bound header.
Chalobah was rightfully named man of the match and on this evidence he’s going to play an important role for the Blues over the second half of the season.
Madueke, who scored his fourth goal this season against Wolves was full of praise for Chalobah’s performance and labelled him “unbelievable.”
“Unbelievable. Leadership, character, bravery on the ball,” he told Sky Sports.
“The system from the manager is difficult, and he slotted in seamlessly. I’m really delighted for him, and it’s not a coincidence that with players like him and Reece back in, we won the game.
