Lyon's priceless diamond shines again in the Europa League 💎

Lyon's financial woes have cast a shadow over their Europa League return.

The Ligue 1 giants were hit with a provisional relegation to the second tier and a transfer ban last month amid the threat of needing to sell several star players.

But Les Gones also have a genuine diamond at their disposal after Malick Fofana added his name to the score sheet during Thursday's clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

It marked the 22-year-old's fifth goal involvement in his side's opening six Europa League matches while he has double that tally in 20 games across all competitions.

Pierre Sage's side are likely to face a battle to keep hold of Fofana in the January transfer window with several European clubs likely to already have taken note.

For now, however, Lyon have a true emerging talent in their ranks.
