Yahoo Sports Luckhurst reveals United’s ‘first injury of the season’ as preparations for tour get underway
Manchester United welcomed their first cohort of players back to Carrington yesterday to get preparations underway for pre-season.
Of course, the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Alejandro Garnacho, Facundo Pellistri and Lisandro Martinez will be absent for a while longer due to their international commitments at Euro 2024 and Copa America, respectively.
Those who exited tournaments recently, such as Altay Bayindir, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, will also be given an extended break to rest and recover before resuming their club duties.

Fans were treated to snaps of the Reds in action at the training complex today and yesterday, with plenty pictured in high spirits after entering the summer as FA Cup champions.
The triumph over Manchester City came after a season derailed by such a debilitating injury crisis, one that the physio and medical staff will be doing their utmost to avoid a repeat of this time around.
Yet, the club have already sustained one injury complaint; according to Samuel Luckhurst, assistant coach Steve McClaren is ‘on crutches after an operation on his foot’, and is therefore unable to be directly involved in training drills and sessions for the foreseeable.
