Louisville vs. Pitt: Schedule odds, injury news and how to watch Week 7 game
The still-undefeated No. 15 Louisville Cardinals are back on the road to face the University of Pittsburgh Panthers after an exciting one-game home stand.
Louisville jumped up 10 spots in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after defeating Notre Dame at home, 33-20. The Cardinals still stand alone atop the ACC as the only team in the conference to have played — and won — six games this season.
Against the Fighting Irish, Louisville quarterback Jack Plummer was 17-for-24 on the day with 145 passing yards and a touchdown. It was running back Jawhar Jordan who truly led the offense though with his 143 rushing yards and two scores. The Cardinals' defense held strong as well, managing to intercept three of Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman's passes. Hartman entered the Week 6 matchup having yet to throw a pick all season.
The 1-4 Panthers are at home following a bye week in Week 6. Their most recent game, a 38-21 loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies, featured a 11-for-22 passing performance from quarterback Phil Jurkovec for 235 yards and two passing touchdowns.
On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Jurkovec was taking practice reps at tight end during the Panthers' bye week. If he indeed makes the position switch ahead of Week 7, backup Christian Veilleux would take over at quarterback.
