Lorenzo Pellegrini discusses scoring key goal in win over Braga: “I’m very happy.”
Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini was finally back on the team’s score sheet in tonight’s 3-0 win over SC Braga.
After the match, Pellegrini spoke to Sky Sport about the importance of his performance.
“Football is like life. Sometimes it gets tough,” said Pellegrini. “This period has helped me and today it was so nice to free myself a little. I’m very happy.”
“I’m happy with everything. We’re continuing on the right path.”
“I scored and the team played well. If you had asked me before the game what I wanted, I would have answered this.”
“Being on the bench? It wasn’t easy. We players are very similar, playing is important because it’s a way to let off steam. I immediately trusted the coach, we talked and he knows who I am. For me it was right this way and in the end it paid off. We still have a long way to go.”
“We are a group of guys who train every day to give their all for Roma. I will go to the pitch to train 100% as I have done in these weeks, even more to try to make Roma win on Sunday and the next match and the one after that.”
“I’m not someone who lets people know me well, I’m a reserved person. What people need to know is that I’m myself both on and off the pitch. I like being like that and I’ll definitely stay that way.”
“Would I leave Roma? No, I don’t think so. Beyond the stupidities that remain such that they mean little to me, I think of the good of Roma and if the good of Roma is that I stay here, I will stay here.”
