Lorenz Larkin Steps in for Short-Notice Fight with Neil Magny at UFC 202

Lorenz Larkin has agreed to take a short-notice fight with Neil Magny at UFC 202.

UFC officials on Wednesday announced that Larkin had agreed to the bout after Magny's original opponent, Dong Hyun Kim, had to pull out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury.

Larkin meets Magny in a key undercard bout on the UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 fight card on Aug. 20 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Magny (18-4) has lost only once in his last 11 bouts. That was a submission loss to Demian Maia. He has since rebounded with three consecutive victories over Erick Silva, Kelvin Gastelum, and Hector Lombard. A victory over the likes of Larkin would help keep him on a run towards title contention.

Larkin (17-5, 1 NC) has struggled to a 4-5 record in the Octagon, so a win over the likes of Magny would do a lot of his stock, not to mention his confidence.

The UFC 202 main event features the highly anticipated welterweight rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor.
