Early reunion with TSV Hartberg

The international break has largely been a successful experience for our boys, and we can now focus on the regular business we know and love - the ADMIRAL Bundesliga!

The sense of anticipation ahead of our clash on Saturday 25 November at 17:00 CET is even greater as we are back in front of our own fans at the Red Bull Arena. Our opponents are familiar ones, as it is only a few weeks ago when we got locked in a gruelling cup battle against TSV Egger Glas Hartberg that ended in a penalty shoot-out. We held our nerve to emerge as winners in that encounter and make the quarter-finals.

It was no surprise at all that our cup away match on 1 November ended up being such a stern test as Markus Schopp's XI have been incredible form over the whole season. With 25 points from 14 matches, Hartberg are level on points with third-placed LASK in fourth place in the table. Hartberg have never had such a successful start to a Bundesliga season in club history!

If there is one team that has shown exactly how to handle Hartberg, then it has been our Red Bulls. In the last Bundesliga meeting in August, our boys took an incredible 5-1 away win, which is the biggest defeat of the season so far for Hartberg. Amar Dedic had an incredible afternoon, scoring  a brace and providing an assist - with Karim Konate, Oscar Gloukh and Sekou Koita also finding the net.

Despite numerous injury absences that have made life difficult for us, we have every chance of taking another three points against Hartberg. We want, after all, to get in gear ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday 29 November at Real Sociedad.

Pressconference ahead of Hartberg
Pressconference ahead of Hartberg

That Hartberg are doing well is nothing that new. That have played really good football in recent weeks and months, and it is no surprise that they are so high up the table. The cup match around four weeks ago was a very different situation - it was a knockout match. In the end we saw the virtues that Hartberg have, and we can expect to see those on Saturday too. That means we need to have a really good day, and we need to throw everything into it even more in our style.

We are FC Red Bull Salzburg, and we want to pose problems with our typical way. Despite the many injury problems, we want to be very clear and convincing. We want to use what we have at our disposal to really put them under pressure.

Hartberg are doing really good this season, and it is now accident to see them so high up the table. We know we are going to face determined opponents with a lot of confidence. Our aim has to be to play in our usual style, put them under pressure and get the goals we need. We are determined to take three points.
