Look: LSU trolls South Carolina with ‘Sandstorm’ celebration in Tigers’ locker room
The LSU football team made sure they heard “Sandstorm” one final time before the left Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.
A video from Tigers football X page (formerly Twitter) showed the players dancing to the popular anthem played at Gamecocks games and waving white towels, chanting “LSU! LSU! LSU!”
“Thanks for the fun, Columbia,” the Tigers said in the social media post.
The song got the Gamecocks’ student section fired up Saturday as South Carolina built a lead over the No. 16 Tigers.
But in the end, LSU used it to pour salt in the wound of their opponents after rallying for a 36-33 win.
“That’s their thing and I think it is awesome when they start waving towels,” LSU linebacker West Weeks said after the game. “I listened to it before the game. We had it cranked it up during breakfast and I had it playing through my earphones. We were prepared for it. That is all you are going to hear when you come here.”
