Even though it changed their draft position to select 10th overall in the 2025 NFL draft, the Chicago Bears defeating the Green Bay Packers meant plenty to the players on the team.

Coming into the bitter rivalry matchup on a 10-game losing streak on the season, an 11-game losing streak to the Packers, and a 10-year drought since last winning at Lambeau Field, the unlikely win did a lot for a team that has experienced multiple heartaches since their 4-2 start.

Following the 24-22 win in Week 18, the fifth victory in a disappointing 2024 season, cameras inside the locker room captured an exuberant, and even relieved, team celebrating. For the wild roller coaster he had in his rookie year, quarterback Caleb Williams awarded interim head coach Thomas Brown the game ball, after Brown received the first victory of his coaching career.

It a special moment for Brown and Williams, who addressed not only his coach but the firsts the team accomplished with their win over Green Bay. When given his moment to speak to the team, Brown had just a few thoughts on the game, but more respectably, told all the players that he would be a contact for them both in life and in football as he and the team move forward towards the 2025 season.

Veteran safety and team captain Kevin Byard also spoke to the team after the win, showing his appreciation to his teammates and the coaching staff who played throughout the season. Byard, who has one year remaining on his contract in Chicago, also encouraged players who may not be back with the team next season to use the lessons they learned this season to help them in their playing future.
