Adrien Rabiot has completed a move to Marseille after being long-linked with Manchester United.

There were opportunities in the past for United to sign the France international, but a deal never materialised.

That is why we were always sceptical of speculation this summer when interest appeared timid, even though Rabiot was available as a free agent.

It also became apparent that Rabiot was not returning to Juventus after his contract expired earlier this summer. Juventus were understood to be keen on offering him a new contract.

The news was confirmed with a photo by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Rabiot can be seen in the picture with a Marseille flag.

Rabiot will join the likes of Mason Greenwood at Marseille, and they’ll be playing under former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.
