London & Oshawa Announced As Host Cities For The 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge
We have our two host cities for the inaugural two-game series of the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by Kubota Canada.
📍 London, ON
📍 Oshawa, ON
Dates and locations for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by @KubotaCanadaLtd have been announced!— Canadian Hockey League (@CHLHockey) September 17, 2024
The London Knights and Oshawa Generals organizations are the two hosts, with the first game taking place at Budweiser Gardens on Nov. 26, followed by game number two happening at the Tribute Communities Centre on Nov. 27.
It's fitting that two of the most historic franchises in the history of the OHL received the honors. Since 1919, no other OHL franchise has won more championships than Oshawa (13). The London Knights have won five, but they have all come within the last 20 years.

Tickets for both matches will become available starting on Oct. 1 at 10 am EST.
The CHL's three members — OHL, WHL, and QMJHL — will rotate hosting the event each year, meaning that junior hockey fans and draft enthusiasts located in Ontario won't have the opportunity to see this event live in person until 2027 after this year if the event continues.
Earlier this summer, we wrote an article listing many candidates who could represent Team CHL. The team's starting goaltender will most definitely be coming from the Brampton Steelheads barring any surprises or injuries.

This will be one of the most competitive two-game series on the schedule for many top draft-eligible prospects, as they look to impress hundreds of NHL scouts in attendance. There's going to be a bunch of future first-rounders at this showcase.
The CHL also announced how the two-game series is formatted. The winning team will receive two points regardless of if they win in regulation, overtime, or a shootout. If the game is tied at the end of 60 minutes, the two teams will play a five-minute overtime period at three-on-three, followed by a three-round shootout if necessary.
Here's where it gets interesting. If after the completion of the second game Team CHL and Team USA are tied in points, the teams will play a sudden-death 20-minute period(s) at three-on-three until one team scores.
