London City Lionesses swoop for Sheffield United goal machine Goodwin
London City Lionesses have completed the impressive signing of Sheffield United goal machine Isobel Goodwin.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.
The 21-year-old has signed a multi-year deal with London City Lionesses while the club have paid an undisclosed fee to Sheffield United to secure her services.
Goodwin started out with Barclays Women’s Super League club Aston Villa before enjoying a productive spell with Coventry United. The forward joined Sheffield United last summer and she took the Barclays Women’s Championship by storm in 2023/2024, netting 15 goals in 19 league outings.
Given last season’s success, Goodwin is seen as one of the most deadly finishers in the second tier. London City Lionesses have completed a major coup in securing her signature.
After joining London City Lionesses, Goodwin said “The Club’s ambitions are in line with mine. The season ahead will be huge for London City and I really wanted to be a part of it.
“I’m hoping to score as many goals as I can for the team this season, helping us reach our collective target. From the first conversation I had with the Club, it was very clear that the plan and vision for the future is very exciting. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
Goodwin is London City Lionesses’ 12th signing of the summer transfer window.
