London City Lionesses defender Georgia Brougham has signed a one-year contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this morning.

Brougham joined London City Lionesses last summer after leaving Barclays Women’s Super League club Leicester City. The 28-year-old made 19 appearances for London City Lionesses in this season’s Barclays Women’s Championship, helping the club to record an eighth-place finish.

The defender is an important player for London City Lionesses and the club have therefore moved to retain her services for another year.

After signing on again at Princes Park, Brougham said “It was a rebuilding year for us last year, but that experience will spur us on to do better and achieve our ambitions this time.

“I’m a winner, it hurt to be where we were in the table last season, and I just want to keep improving. You never stop learning as a player and, with a new manager coming in, it’s important that I’m able to adapt, advance my game, and become an experienced senior player.”

Brougham is the first player to sign a contract extension with London City Lionesses during the close season.
