Lockwood eyes silverware as she seals City move

New recruit Katie Lockwood will give Glasgow City's attack "a different dimension," says head coach Leanne Ross.

Attacking midfielder Lockwood, 26, has signed a two-year deal at City after helping Hearts finish third and reach the Scottish Cup final last season, earning herself a spot in the PFA Scotland team of the year.

The English ace spent the previous year with Hibs and has also played in Cyprus and Sweden.

"The rich history of the club and that expectation to win trophies was a big attraction so I want to push myself to win titles, trophies and hopefully experience the Champions League as well," Lockwood said of her City move.

Lockwood netted 16 goals in 26 Hearts appearances last season and Ross hopes she continues that "excellent" record.

She added: "While playing for Hibs and Hearts, Katie always caused us problems with her intelligent movement, creativity in possession and goalscoring threat.

"I admire the way she plays the game and believe she will add a different dimension to our attacking play for the season ahead."
