Liverpool are prepared to sign two goalkeepers in the summer transfer window to provide Alisson Becker with the necessary backup, according to reports.

A clear out in this department is already underway with Adrian rejecting a new contract offer to return to Spain and rejoin Real Betis.

Meanwhile, Caoimhin Kelleher likely to depart, having expressed his desire to be the first-choice goalkeeper - a status he's unlikely to achieve at Anfield as long as Alisson is at the club and performing to a high level.

Though a move to Nottingham Forest appears to be off the table following the arrival of Carlos Miguel at the City Ground, Football Insider claim Liverpool will look to sign a replacement should the Republic of Ireland international leave.

Interestingly, whilst the report states the Reds would be looking for a couple of goalkeepers to provide cover and competition for Alisson, they may only need to sign one and this is thanks to the emergence of Vitezslav Jaros.

The Czechia international enjoyed an impressive second half of the 2023/24 season where he was loaned out to Sturm Graz to aid his development and cemented himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the division by helping his loan club win a league and cup double.

Now, according to The Athletic's James Pearce, Liverpool will replace Adrian with the 22-year-old.

"With Adrian moving on, Liverpool intend to promote young goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros to Arne Slot’s squad," Pearce wrote.

Due to Jaros joining the Liverpool academy from Slavia Prague in 2017, he therefore qualifies as a homegrown player which is perfect with regard to Premier League and UEFA Champions League registration rules for next season.

Effectively the Reds already have their third-choice goalkeeping option in place so should only require one signing in this department on the condition that Kelleher seeks pastures new.
