Liverpool transfer news today - £50.5m Bremer BID, Ederson TALKS, Eze DECISION, signing IMMINENT

Here's our Liverpool FC transfer recap for Thursday 11 July, with updates on Gleison Bremer, Dani Olmo and Eberechi Eze.

The summer transfer window has been open for quite some time now and whilst the first signing of the Arne Slot era is yet to be announced, the Reds continue to be linked with reinforcements - as well as sales - ahead of the new season.

£50.5m Gleison Bremer offer

Liverpool have signalled their intention to bolster in central defence by making an offer for Juventus' Gleison Bremer, according to reports.

Most rumours surrounding the Reds so far this summer has been for defensive targets amid links to Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, Bologna's Riccardo Calafiori and Lille youngster Leny Yoro.

In truth, there is scope for a centre-back signing following Joel Matip's release. Although there is an argument that Liverpool are well-stocked in this department given Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah are the senior options.

With that said, The Standard (as per Fichajes), claim the Reds have already submitted an offer of around €60 million (£50.5 million) to secure Bremer's services.

Of course, the 27-year-old is a teammate of Alisson Becker at international level and has been a standout performer in Serie A over the past couple of seasons due to his ability to read the game and win his aerial duels.

Dani Olmo release clause

Time is running out for Liverpool to seal a cut-price deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo.

Spain are through to Sunday's Euro 2024 final and the 26-year-old has more than played his part in helping his nation get there. Netting the opener in the quarter-final win over Germany, he scored the winner in the semi-final success over France on Tuesday night.

In addition to a further goal and assist, Olmo has caught they eye during the tournament, so much so that he's courting interest from clubs in Spain as well as England with Chelsea and Liverpool both heavily linked.

Now, despite reports in Spain claiming the Reds are unlikely to make a move for Olmo, it's worth a reminder that the £50m release clause in his contract expires on Monday with Leipzig ready to play hardball if clubs express interest after this deadline.

Signing imminent

Liverpool are set to complete the signing of England Under-16 international Rio Ngumoha from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

As revealed by The Athletic, the teenager's move to Merseyside is subject to Premier League approval and whilst the attacker is expected to initially link up with Liverpool Under-18s but he will not be able to train or play until the paperwork is processed.

This deal is regarded as a major coup for the Reds as Ngumoha is regarded as one of the most talented prospects in the country.

The pathway available for young players at Liverpool was key to Ngumoha's decision having seen former manager Jurgen Klopp hand opportunities to the likes of Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley and Bobby Clark last season.

Eze decision

Liverpool have been given encouragement to pursue a deal for Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze.

The attacking midfielder is expected to dominate the gossip columns as soon as his involvement with the Three Lions at this summer's European Championships comes to an end.

Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in Eze, as have their north London rivals Arsenal and Liverpool too with the Daily Mail reporting he has a release clause in his Crystal Palace contract worth an initial £60 million plus additional add-ons worth in the region of £8 million.

The good news, according to reports, for Arne Slot is that Eze prefers a move to Merseyside over staying in London as feels he can cement a place in the Reds' starting XI.

Having said that, the report also states that whilst Liverpool have expressed a concrete interest in Eze, they will only make a move to sign him if Luis Diaz leaves the club amid links to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ederson meeting

Liverpool have multiple talks with the agents of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a standout 2023/24 season, helping the Serie A side lift the Europa League and as a result has linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window.

Along with the Reds, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in the Brazilian.

And now Romano has revealed what steps Liverpool have already taken with regard to the midfielder, although he did stress the club have not submitted an official offer.

"I would not be surprised if Liverpool go for a midfielder this summer because, for example, they have had several meetings and contacts with the agents of Ederson from Atalanta," he said on Playback.

"He is one of the players that Liverpool considered in the midfield, but never sent a proposal, also because they know it’s going to be difficult, it’s going to be complicated."
