Liverpool tipped to repeat Alexis Mac Allister trick as Champions League-winning lynchpin available for '€30m - €40m'

Liverpool tipped to repeat Alexis Mac Allister trick as Champions League-winning lynchpin available for '€30m - €40m'

Bayern Munich have accepted the possibility that they will LOSE Joshua Kimmich this summer and have set a price tag of €30 million to €40m.

That’s according to a new report in Mundo Deportivo, which claims that Barcelona are now OUT of the running for the Germany international.

Ex-manager Xavi was believed to be a big backer of Kimmich’s arrival at Camp Nou but the trail has gone cold since the Spanish World Cup winner departed.

He has been replaced by Hansi Flick, who won a treble with Kimmich at Bayern in 2020, but Barca club president Joan Laporta is now focused on other midfield targets such as Mikel Merino and Everton’s Amadou Onana

Kimmich has a contract until 2025 and is reported to have accepted his fate and that his time in Bavaria is at an end.

German sources do NOT expect a new contract to be offered to the versatile defender-cum-midfielder, who earns around €20m annually at Allianz Arena.

Kimmich, 29, has revealed that any sense of trust between him and the club has been damaged due to Bayern failing to support his decision to decline a Covid-19 vaccination

With only 12 months on his contract, Bayern would be content to gain a decent fee for Kimmich this summer, a player who joined them back in 2015 from Stuttgart when Pep Guardiola was still in charge.

Kimmich would move to these five teams

Liverpool and Pep’s Manchester City are two of the FIVE teams Kimmich would consider a move to. Barca had been among that list also but can be almost definitely ruled out.

Arsenal and Real Madrid are the other teams regarded as Kimmich’s preferred destinations.

No decision has been made on his future as of yet and no news is expected until after German interest is ended at Euro 2024.

It remains to be seen what new Bayern coach Vincent Kompany wants to do with Kimmich, a player who started last season in midfield but who has since been shunted back to right back by club and country.

However, for a proven Champions League-winning lynchpin, €30m to €40m looks like a relatively low price - around the same price as Alexis Mac Allister who came in on a bargain transfer from Brighton last summer.
