Liverpool team news vs Bournemouth – Alisson out, Nunez back
Arne Slot has named his Liverpool team to face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds will be hoping to bounce back from their first league loss of the season last weekend, after Nottingham Forest secured a shock 1-0 win at Anfield. Slot’s side regrouped in Europe with an impressive 3-1 win at AC Milan in midweek and will look to take that momentum into this afternoon’s clash with the Cherries.
Slot revealed that Alisson was a doubt heading into the game with a muscular injury and the Brazil international is not included in the XI. Caoimhín Kelleher, who played 26 games in 2023/24, makes his first appearance of the current campaign in goal.
There’s also a recall for Darwin Nunez at centre-forward. The Uruguayan has been restricted to cameo appearances from the bench during the season’s opening weeks but returns to the starting XI, with Diogo Jota dropping to the bench. Federico Chiesa is also among the substitutes and could make his Premier League debut for Liverpool.
Confirmed Liverpool XI to face Bournemouth
Caoimhín Kelleher; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai; Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez.
