Liverpool name 28-man squad for US tour

Liverpool have confirmed their 28-man squad for the tour of the United States.

Arne Slot will embark on his maiden pre-season campaign after succeeding Jürgen Klopp earlier this summer.

The Dutchman has named a squad which combines the club’s youth crop with established first-team figures.

Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai are among the notable inclusions for the trip stateside.

But the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Virgil van Dijk, Luis Díaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold will not link up with their club due to extended breaks after their international exertions.

The Reds kick off their US tour against Real Betis in Pittsburgh before facing Arsenal in Philadelphia before concluding with a clash with Manchester United in Columbia.
