Alexis Mac Allister remains committed to Liverpool despite speculation surrounding a potential move to Real Madrid.

Mac Allister scored seven goals and provided seven assists during an impressive debut campaign at Liverpool in 2023-24, following the midfielder’s £35m arrival at Anfield from Brighton last summer.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier this year, as the Spanish side seek a replacement for the recently retired Toni Kroos.

Mac Allister enhanced his reputation further this summer after forming part of the Argentina team that won the 2024 Copa America, having also lifted the World Cup in Qatar 18 months ago.

The player’s father, Carlos, has insisted that Mac Allister remains happy at Liverpool and said there have been no negotiations with Real Madrid. He insisted any future interest in an exit would be communicated with the Liverpool board.

“Alexis is performing very well at Liverpool, and this is the important thing to say at the moment,” Mac Allister Snr told Egyptian site, MSR.

“There are no negotiations from Real Madrid with Alexis, and the player will continue with Liverpool next season.

“If future offers arrive to sign Alexis, we will discuss them with Liverpool’s management first.”
