Liverpool just posted photos of a huge injury update on Harvey Elliott. The Reds have been battling problems with several players.

Liverpool have published photos of Harvey Elliott in training as he continues his path back from injury. The midfielder is yet to start a game this season after picking up a problem.

In fact, Elliott only made one appearance - a substitute against Brentford - before fracturing his foot. He's been out ever since, but it's clear he's making good progress.

Elliot is back running, in fact, and that's a gigantic step for anyone working their way back from a foot injury. While there's no timeline, this could mean he's ready to play football before long - and what an addition he could be to this Liverpool squad.

Harvey Elliott back running

Elliott was one of Liverpool's best players towards the end of last season. Jurgen Klopp actually felt he was the best at one stage as most of the Reds' stars struggled towards the end of the campaign.

That naturally led to a lot of excitement that Elliott could break through to the next level this season. Could he actually maintain his form as one of the club's best?

This injury felt cruel, coming right at the start of the season and handing other players a chance to move past Elliott in the pecking order. The likes of Curtis Jones have done just that, with the Scouser now putting pressure on Dominik Szoboszlai for that no.10 role.

But it shouldn't be too long before Elliott is ready to play. We're hoping he's fully fit for the Christmas period, in particular, when the number of games ramps up.

It'll be an interesting squad for him to return to, too. Federico Chiesa may take away Elliott's chances on the right wing, suggesting he's seen as a central player going forward.

It certainly feels like his best role - let's hope he's proving that before too long.
