Liverpool handed boost as Madrid dealt huge blow ahead of UCL clash after star suffers season-ending injury
Liverpool are currently top of the Champions League table after winning all four of their opening games of the league phase of the elite European competition so far this season, but they will be facing a fierce test when they host reigning champions Real Madrid at Anfield after the November international break.
The Reds have faced and beaten AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, and manager Arne Slot will fancy their chances against a struggling Madrid side on November 27.
Liverpool have also received a massive boost ahead of the match after Eder Militao picked up a season-ending injury in their 4-0 win over Osasuna today.

The Brazilian has damaged his ACL and will not play again this term in a huge blow to Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, and Liverpool could have a field day against the Spanish club as a result.
Militao has played in all of their La Liga and Champions League games so far in 2024-25, but he will not be featuring against the Reds.
Madrid have two wins and two defeats in Europe this season, and they have also lost once in the La Liga, but they remain the team to beat and Liverpool have to be on top of their game when they meet.
Not having to face Militao is a plus for their attackers, and while the likes of Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham will still be available, the Merseyside club have a better chance of winning due to the absence of the Brazilian.
A victory against Madrid will see Liverpool move closer to finishing in the top eight (after the league phase) and booking an automatic spot in the round of 16 of the competition, and they will head into the remaining games of the league phase against Girona, Lille and PSV Eindhoven with huge morale.
