How Liverpool DOMINATED in Arne Slot's first game at Anfield
Liverpool were in control throughout during Arne Slot's second game in charge against Brentford at Anfield.
Slot's side played some electric attacking football in a 2-0 win which gives them a perfect record under the new manager so far this season, who was out to impress FSG owner John Henry who attended the game.
Last time out against Ipswich it took Liverpool an hour to break the deadlock, but fans were celebrating after just 13 minutes at Anfield as Luís Diaz got his first of the season with a brilliant finish after a quick counter-attack from the Reds.

It was a great start to life at Anfield for Slot, and meant that Diaz scored Liverpool's first Anfield goal of the season for the third year in a row.

While Brentford did have a couple of decent chances, Liverpool were in almost complete control throughout.

DEFENSIVE MASTERCLASS
According to Squawka, the 2-0 win means that Slot's side now has more clean sheets in his first two games than Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool did in his final 17 at the helm.
Slot's decision to take off Jarell Quansah for Ibrahima Konaté at half-time against Ipswich garnered plenty of praise and coincided with his side taking control of the game.
Quansah was criticised by his manager for losing too many duels in that game, and was on the bench against Brentford as Konaté made his first start of the season.
Konaté put in a brilliant display, winning 100% of his four duels and possession of the ball six times.
The pair are in direct competition to be van Dijk's partner in defence this season. After the first two games, it looks like Konaté has the edge on his younger counterpart, but there is still plenty of time for Quansah to make another claim for a starting spot.
Slot will be pleased with his side's defensive performances in the first two games of the season, and the Reds join Arsenal as the only side not to have conceded in the Premier League so far.
GRAVENBERCH IN CONTROL – AGAIN
The spotlight has been on Ryan Gravenberch in the early stages of this season due to his position at the base of the midfield, a position where Liverpool have tried to sign Martin Zubimendi.
He was one of Slot's standout performers against Ipswich last week and looked in good shape again against Brentford.
The Dutch midfielder was booked for a challenge in the first half, but completed completed the most passes (72) and won the most tackles (3) while he was on the pitch.
He stands to benefit the most from Liverpool's lack of signings so far and, if his performances remain to a high standard, will be one of the first names on Slot's team sheet at the base of the midfield after impressing so far.
SALAH ON FIRE
The Egyptian King was again in great form against Brentford, scoring Liverpool's second goal.
Salah's effort meant he became Liverpool's outright 5th top scorer at Anfield in all competitions with 118 goals, moving ahead of Robbie Fowler (117).

Only Ian Rush (185), Roger Hunt (173), Gordon Hodgson (159), and Billy Liddell (137) have more Anfield goals for the club.
It was also the first time he has scored in the first two matches of a Premier League season, despite last week becoming the only player to score on the opening weekend in nine consecutive years – yet another mark of his success.
It's been a perfect start to life under Slot for Liverpool, with two wins from two providing a great platform for the side ahead of next week's game against Manchester United.
