To overcome Barca, Liverpool had to keep a close eye on Lionel Messi. One picture summed up how they did just that.

Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum started the match among the substitutes, something he later revealed he was far from happy about. When he was introduced for the injured Andy Robertson early in the second half, he responded by scoring two goals and knocking the stuffing out of a baffled Barca team.
COME ON!! 🔥 Words can’t describe this feeling! Anfield never stopped believing and neither did we! 🙌🏾 🔴 The road isn’t over yet! MADRID HERE WE COME!!! WE. NEVER. GIVE. UP. 👊🏾 🏆 #UCL #LiverpoolFC #YNWA pic.twitter.com/GOq98HuJJY

Liverpool’s achievement was made all the more remarkable given they did it without star player Mohamed Salah, who missed the game after suffering a concussion last week.

Meanwhile, spare a thought for the poor person manning Barcelona’s social accounts. This tweet has not aged well...
We score, Liverpool need FIVE - and we're going to get at least one... agreed?
