Jaron Ennis vs. Karen Chukhadzhian 2 results, highlights: 'Boots,' Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez win in drastically different ways

Jaron Ennis retains his IBF welterweight title with a competitive unanimous decision win (119-107, 117-109, 116-110) over Karen Chukhadzhian in their rematch in front of more than 10,000 fans in Philadelphia.

The crowd is completely silent. Ennis won't get the knockout and Chukhadzhian throws until the final bell, he had another good round in the 12th. Ennis was over-eager to get a knockout and paid the price for it with how much he got hit. Boots has his chin up and hands down up close. There was a lack of jabs in this fight and he didn't properly break Chukhadzhian down. Maybe one of the other champions will fight Boots now.

10-9 Chukhadzhian, 115-111 Ennis.

A left uppercut early in the round from Ennis rocks Chukhadzhian. Chu lands a solid counter left hook and follows it up with 3 clean shots seconds later. Chukhadzhian is having his best round for a while. Ennis is really struggling with his defense and has completely neglected his long-range boxing skills.

10-9 Chukhadzhian, 106-101 Ennis.

Chukhadzhian hurt in Round 10 and holds to try and survive. The referee takes a point away from Chukhadzhian seconds later for holding. Chukhadzhian getting hit with some big shots now, and Ennis is moving closer to a stoppage.

Scrappy 9th round, with a lot of holding from Chukhadzhian. Ennis is struggling to get his work off as Chukhadzhian is smothering him as soon as they get close.

Ennis is walking Chukhadzhian down. He lands with a combination, which stuns Chukhadzhian — three or four clean punches there but the Ukrainian stands up to it. Chukhadzhian lands with a hard left hook that rocks Boots, and finishes the round with a couple of good right hands. Ennis' defense is very poor tonight.

Very competitive Round 7. Chukhadzhian landed with a left hook and followed it up with a hard right hand just seconds later. An overhand left lands for Chukhadzhian. Boots is trying hard to land power shots on Chukhadzhian, but he is leaving himself open for counters while he does it.

10-9 Chukhadzhian, 67-65 Ennis.

Ennis looking for the finish in round six but Chukhadzhian isn't ready to wilt yet, and is still firing back. Boots is trying to throw short power shots on the inside, uppercuts and hooks. He is told in the corner to, "Get [Chukhadzhian] out of there already!"

Boots lands a three-punch combination on Chukhadzhian. The final shot, a right uppercut, seems to have done some damage to Chukhadzhian. Ennis follows it up with a pair of overhand lefts. Chukhadzhian is backed up on the ropes, caught with a combination, a right uppercut forces Chukhadzhian to TAKE A KNEE!

10-8 Ennis, 48-46 Ennis.

Ennis and Chukhadzhian trade right hands early in Round 4. Ennis caught him big with a right uppercut but the Ukrainian fired back with an overhand right. Chukhadzhian has switched the direction of his right hand to the torso as Ennis is moving his head. Chukhadzhian lands a combination in the final few seconds. Another competitive round.

10-9 Chukhadzhian, 38-38.

Right hand, left hook from Chukhadzhian lands on Ennis' chin. Chukhadzhian is creating angles to find an opening for his power shots. Boots responds well though and backs Chukhadzhian against the ropes, a combination seemed to land on Chukhadzhian and momentarily hurt him. Unclear what the shot was that hurt Chukhadzhian.

Chukhadzhian finding a home for his left hook, Ennis needs to tighten up his defence. Boots lands a nice right hook on the side of Chukhadzhian's head, those kinds of punches can affect the equilibrium of a fighter and you see that with Chukhadzhian's legs. Boots with some flashy head movement at the end of Round 2.

10-9 Ennis, 19-19.

The rematch is vastly different from the first fight. Chukhadzhian has come to put the pressure on Boots rather than dance around the ring. It's Ennis on the back foot. Chukhadzhian is throwing in-between Boots and connects with a left hook on Boots' chin, Boots was off balance with that shot.

Jaron 'Boots' Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) makes the second defense of his IBF welterweight title against his mandatory challenger Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs).

Ennis dominated Chukhadzhian to win the interim title in Jan. 2023 and would eventually be upgraded to full champion. He made the first defence of the crown last time out by stopping David Avanesyan.

Chukhadzhian "earned" a rematch with Ennis by beating Hary Scarff in their IBF-ordered final eliminator, which took place in May.

Guevara gets up but is instantly met by a combination from Bam. The Mexican is going to fight fire with fire but it's not going to end well for him. A brilliant right uppercut from Bam KNOCKS OUT Guevara in round 3. Tremendous showing from a pound-for-pound top fighter.

Right hook, right uppercut combination from Rodriguez, he created an angle for that right uppercut by shifting to the left. Guevara is aiming for the body trying to slow down Bam. Brilliant left uppercut from Bam. Both men working the body, Bam connects with an overhand left.

Liam Paro and Richardson Hitchins face off in the ring at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Paro, who pulled off a major upset over Subriel Matias in Matias' backyard to win the IBF crown, returns to Puerto Rico on Dec. 7 to make the first defence of his title against the undefeated mandatory challenger Richardson Hitchins.

It's now time for the first of the two kings as Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez (20-0, 13 KOs) defends his WBC super flyweight title against the mandatory challenger, Mexico's Pedro Guevara (42-4-1, 22 KOs).

Rodriguez survived a knockdown to knock out the legendary Juan Francisco Estrada in June

Guevara became the WBC interim champion with a split decision over Andrew Moloney in May in Moloney's native Australia.

It's a successful junior lightweight debut for Raymond Ford who wins a wide unanimous decision (99-89, 100-88, 100-88) over Orlando Gonzalez to capture the WBA continental title.

Ford clips Gonzalez with the left hand and begs the Puerto Rican to stop running and meet him in the middle of the ring. Gonzalez won't do that though. It's a shutout for Ford, who has looked very impressive in his junior lightweight debut.

Gonzalez is moving the whole round, crowd starting to boo Gonzalez. Gonzalez is just looking to survive now, he realises he has no chance of winning this fight.

Ford is peppering Gonzalez with both hands, this has been a dominant display from him. ANOTHER RIGHT HOOK and Gonzalez drops to the canvas, he gets up but this is only going one way. This one might be stopped.

10-8 Ford, 80-70 Ford

The right hook from Ray Ford once again wobbles the legs of Gonzalez, that is the money punch for Ford in this fight. Ford tries to follow up but Gonzalez survives and manages to reduce the intensity. Ford needs to pressure Gonzalez for a sustained period of time after he hurts him.

70-62 Ford

Right hook from Ford buckles the knees of Gonzalez. That was the same punch the scored the knockdown in round 2. Ford doubles up on the right hand to the head and body, headshot was blocked but the body shot lands, and it seems to have an impact on Gonzalez. 3 left hands from Ford lands clean on Gonzalez in the final 30 seconds.

Gonzalez seems to have recovered from the knockdown, he has now gone back to how he fights: on the front foot, pushing the pace, and pressuring Ford. Gonzalez throws a combination, the highlight is the left hand to the body which lands. Ford flips the switch and now tries to pressure Gonzalez. A pair of left-hands connect for Ford. Two more overhand lefts in the last 15 seconds for the American. Ford's success in the final minute wins him the round.

A sharp southpaw 1-2-hook from Ford lands clean on Gonzalez's chin. Gonzalez responds with a combination, the left hand connected. Gonzalez is trying to rough Ford up on the inside, but is hesitant to trade at range as Ford's hands are too quick for him.

Ford has switched his attacks to the body in round 3, Gonzalez is moving a lot now and not necessarily trying to launch his own punches. Ford in control, stabbing the body with power shots.

Strong left hand for Ford connects in the first 30 seconds, Gonzalez takes it though. Ford is now pushing Gonzalez back. RIGHT HOOK and Ford drops Gonzalez, he just about makes it to his feet. That was a heavy knockdown, Gonzalez is still hurt and trying to survive the round.

Sharp start from Ray Ford, Gonzalez is not going to be able to match Ford for speed. Ford throws a 3-punch combination and switches the angle for the final punch, a right uppercut which breaks the guard. Ford rocks Gonzalez with a left hand in the final minute, great start for Ford.

Former WBA featherweight champion Ray Ford (15-1-1, 8 KOs) makes his junior lightweight debut against Puerto Rico's world-ranked Orlando Gonzalez (23-2, 13 KO) over 10 rounds for the WBA Continental North American title.

Ford won the title with a dramatic come-from-behind stoppage win over Otabek Kholmatov in March; there were just 10 seconds to go in the fight. He then lost the belt in a controversial split decision defeat to Nick Ball in June.

Gallegos jumps on Coe at the beginning of round 9, another combination and Coe slumps to the canvas; this time they will stop it. A major upset in Philadelphia as the Mexican takes the unbeaten record of one of Matchroom's best US prospects.

Coe GOES DOWN AGAIN from a body shot. He looks badly hurt. Gallegos could pull off a massive upset in Philadelphia. After round 1, Gallegos has taken over in this fight.

Coe lands with a heavy 3-punch combination, the right hand pushed back Gallego's head. Right hook from Gallegos, Coe momentarily turns his body, Gallegos follows it up with a combination and COE TAKES A KNEE.

Coe on the backfoot, looking to fully recover from the knockdown in round 5. Still has his right hand protecting his liver. Gallegos going back to the body, Coe is still meeting him head-on, despite the fact that he had his best success when he was jabbing and boxing him.

DOWNS GOES COE from a left-hand body shot. Gallegos is looking for the finish but Coe answers with a strong right hand of his own. Gallegos is now backing up, Coe follows up with a left hook and another pair of right hands. Great turnaround from Coe. Big round for the heavy underdog Gallegos.

Gallegos HURTS Coe with a right uppercut counter and follows it up with a flurry. Coe's legs look weak, he's backed up on the ropes. Gallegos is letting his hands go but Coe is blocking well. The American prospect seems to have weathered the storm, for now. Coe needs to go back to his jab and boxing at long range.

Both men trading on the inside. Gallegos attacking the body, Coe is looking for that uppercut. Coe has completely gone away from what he was having success with in the opener.

A very different approach from Coe in round 2. In the opener, he was boxing behind a power jab and picking his shots. Now, he's coming forward, closing the distance and trying to keep the fight at mid and short-range. Coe landed a terrific right uppercut while Gallegos was along the ropes. Gallegos landed a lot more punches in the second though.

US light heavyweight prospect Khalil Coe (9-0-1, 7 KOs) makes the first defence of his WBA USA title against Mexico's Manuel Gallegos (20-2-1, 17 KOs) over ten rounds.

Gallegos gave super middleweight contender Diego Pacheco a competitive fight last year until Pacheco prevailed with a 4th-round TKO.

HUGE LEFT HAND from Williams, Garrido is badly rocked. Ammo follows it up with another left hand and a right hook, Garrido is hurt and desperately trying to hold. Williams connects again with the left hand and follows it up with a flurry, Garrido is on the ropes and in a bad way, and the referee jumps in and declares this one OVER!

Tougher fight than expected for Williams but he got the stoppage in the end.

A pair of overhand lefts from Williams land clean on Garrido. Garrido is on Ammo's chest constantly and is making him uncomfortable in the ring, closing the space. Right uppercut from Ammo in the final 30 seconds. Ammo perhaps tiring a little now.

Williams buckles Garrido's knees with a right hook 30 seconds into round 2. It's just too easy for Ammo to land power shots. Garrido has started to fire back now though, realising he needs to slow down Williams. Williams landing straight left hands to the head and body.

Dominant opener from Williams, who is boxing well on the backfoot. Garrido is standing in front of him with a high guard but not throwing much. Williams landing around a dozen clean southpaw left hands, with one of them rocking Garrido in the final minute.

Austin Williams (16-1, 11 KOs) returns to the ring for an 8-round middleweight contest against Gian Garrido (11-1, 8 KOs).

It's Ammo's first fight since an 11th-round TKO defeat at the hands of Hamzah Sheeraz in June.
