Derrick Henry, Ravens roll over Buffalo to hand Bills first loss of the season

The Ravens cruised to a dominant 35-10 win over the Bills on Sunday night

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills’ undefeated run is over.

The Bills struggled from the jump on Sunday night in Baltimore and found themselves on the wrong side of a blowout at M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens, behind yet another huge night from Derrick Henry, cruised to a dominant 35-10 win to hand the Bills their first loss of the year.

Henry, on the Ravens’ first offensive play of the night, broke open for a wild 87-yard touchdown run to put them up immediately. It marked the longest touchdown run in team history, and Henry’s third from at least 85 yards in his career. Henry caught a 5-yard touchdown pass on their next drive, too.

The Ravens took a 21-3 lead at halftime after completely shutting down Allen and the Bills, who managed just 90 team yards in the first 30 minutes.

The Ravens didn’t let up in the second half, either. They quickly pushed ahead to grab the 25-point win after Lamar Jackson and fullback Patrick Ricard found the end zone. That moved them to 2-2 on the season.

Josh Allen went 16-of-29 for 180 yards in the loss for Buffalo. James Cook added 39 rushing yards on nine carries, and Khalil Shakir had 62 receiving yards on four carries.

Jackson went 13-of-18 for 156 yards and threw two touchdowns. He ran in another touchdown and had 54 rushing yards on six carries. Henry finished with 199 yards on the ground and two total touchdowns. Justice Hill had 78 yards and a score on six catches, too.

And this one is over. The Bills have dropped their first game of the year, and Derrick Henry racked up 199 yards on the ground with his two total touchdowns.

  • Touchdown, Ravens

The Ravens fumbled into the end zone, but Patrick Ricard recovered it for the touchdown. Baltimore's lead is now 35-10.

  • Bills get a huge stop

The Bills just picked up a huge stop, and will get the ball back now after the Ravens' second straight punt of the night.

If the comeback is going to happen, Josh Allen will need to turn this into points quick.

  • Josh Allen sets up a Bills TD

I have no idea how Josh Allen pulled this off, but it set up a short touchdown run from Ty Johnson on the very next play. What a ridiculous sequence for the Bills.

The Ravens' lead is now 21-10.

  • Halftime: Ravens 21, Bills 3

Baltimore will get the ball out of the break, too.

  • Bills stall out, again

Even after a delay of game (which came after a coaching mistake from John Harbaugh) gave the Bills a free first down and kept their drive alive, the Ravens got another stop and forced a fourth punt from Buffalo.

The Ravens will get the ball back now with 42 seconds before halftime.

  • Ravens fumble

That's the first mistake of the night for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson had the ball punched out, and the Bills picked up the fumble in what was a huge break for them ahead of the two minute warning.

They'll need to turn this into points now if they want to have a chance at a comeback in the second half.

  • Bills punting, again

Josh Allen and the Bills have nothing working for them today. They're set to punt again after another sack from Kyle Van Noy.

  • Ravens force a quick punt

The Ravens just forced a three-and-out and will get the ball back. This thing could be getting out of hand quickly.

  • Derrick Henry scores again

Derrick Henry just picked up his second touchdown of the night. He caught a short 5-yard touchdown pass to open the second quarter, and the Ravens are suddenly up 14-3.

That was Henry's first touchdown catch since 2019.

  • End of 1: Ravens 7, Bills 3

The Ravens are threatening to score again. They'll start the second quarter at the Bills' 5 yard line.

  • Derrick Henry's historic run

Derrick Henry's 87-yard touchdown run was the longest rushing touchdown in Ravens history.

It was also Henry's third career rushing touchdown of at least 85 yards. Only two other players in NFL history have three or more rushing touchdowns of that length.

  • Ravens 7, Bills 3

Josh Allen got the Bills moving again, but their drive stalled out just past midfield. So they'll have to settle for a 50-yard field goal from Tyler Bass.

The Ravens' lead is now to four.

  • Derrick Henry scores again

Well that was easy. Derrick Henry just broke open an 87-yard touchdown run to get things started for the Ravens on their first offensive play of the night.

    Baltimore leads now 7-0.

  • Josh Allen and the Bills got to about midfield, and converted on a short fourth down, but the Ravens get the stop and force a punt.

Lamar Jackson will come out now and start his drive from their own 13.
